OK travel bugs, this was INSANE. I honestly thought we were going by motorbike and was ready for the occasion. Turns out they had the jeep available that day and we drove it along the Vietnam coastline. BREATHTAKING! This was definitely one of those “wow, I can’t believe I did that” travel moments.

While you can take a shuttle bus or the train, both those options don’t allow you to see Vietnam’s amazing coastline views. Consider taking a private motorbike, jeep, or car option to get the most out of your time!

Here’s some destinations we visited during the drive from Hue to Hoi An:
-Fishing village
-Hai Van Pass is a long mountainous stretch of road in Central Vietnam that juts into the sea. An incredibly beautiful path to ride on on motorbike or…jeep!
-My Khe Beach, R & R Beach is a beach in Danang, a white sandy 20-mile stretch!
-Marble Mountain is a cluster of limestone hills, caves, tunnels, and temples. A seriously fascinating site to visit in Vietnam!
-Danang is the largest city in Vietnam in terms of population – wow!
-Hoi An Ancient City

I flew into Hue instead of Danang because it was cheaper, so I had to travel down South to get to Hoi An 🙂 Hope that helps with navigation!

If you’ve made it this far…give the video a big thumbs up! You’re epicly awesome.

  • so cool, may I ask what is the name of the tour company ??

  • Shame you had a horrible day. The trip from Hue to HoiAn is amazing on a sunny day.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3D9vTUnLZgGgc&ved=2ahUKEwjCguq4tdfiAhVXYysKHR19DdoQwqsBMAB6BAgIEAU&usg=AOvVaw3KSgKWVwWKjpp_TI4hdTMl

  • Did he reference Top Gear when describing the 2 day trip? That Vietnam special they did in season 7 is one of my favorites ever.

  • JEEP?! BAD AX!!! 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

  • That looks amazing. So beautiful

  • I really liked it. It's definitively in my list of places to visit in my near future.

  • I really like you Darling. You have a genuine charm.I love Vietnam, (in video) I can,t wait to visit there; specially Hoi An.

  • What is the information for the Jeep tour???

  • How did you find it being in Vietnam around the time of their new year? Planning to go next year but I've heard the country almost shuts down/comes to a stand still during this time. Is this true? 🙂

  • You are having so much fun. Thanks for sharing…Btw, new subscriber!

  • Nice video! Warm greeting from #phattireventures #vietnam

  • 😉👍

  • What month did you go??

  • I am heading home soon (have not been there for over 10 years O_O) so many things have changed and I love seeing your vlogs … definitely will do this when I'm back!

  • If you went from Hue to Hoi An you never went past the DMZ.

  • i have a love and hate relationship with Vietnam but these videos do bring back memories

  • Enjoy your videos. This one reminded me of my travels.
In Hue, I recommend taking a Dragon Boat ride at night on the Perfume River. One I took had local musicians with traditional instruments playing country songs (Vietnamese country that is) and women in Ao Dais singing along. I was sitting on a chair near edge of boat entranced with the show when someone grabbed my arm from the river. As a Vietnam vet, my first thought was Viet Cong and I jerked away. Coming to my senses, I saw it was a woman selling roses from her little dugout canoe. I bought some and followed the Vietnam tradition of wrapping money with it and presenting it and bowing to the singers as a sign of appreciation.
After the show, we lit candles in a paper lotus and lay them on the river, symbolizing our prayers for peace. Every Dragon boat did the same and it looked like the stars fell out of the heavens and landed on the Perfume River. One time I didn't bring my camera and didn't have a single photo. Oh, well, being into the moment without a camera and the memories are better.

  • very beautiful place

  • Oh my hometown. Thanks for your vlog. It is awesome

  • LoL.. I asked before how long you going to be in Vietnam. I was just looking at all the comments and it's more than a month ago.. Trying to get through this Vietnam playlist!

wow traveling with that jeep is so cool.

  • All those noodle soups, giiiiirrrrrrrl you makin me hungry

  • Nha Trang has nothing on Da Nang….I would pick Da Nang over Nha Trang any day, that's just me. Da Nang has a lot more to do than Nha Trang.

  • Great coverage on this leg of your journey TJ, I remember when I was there back in 2008 while we were traveling on the bus I had my Ipod with me loaded up with Vietnam War era music from the 70's and it was truly inspiring thinking that a lot of the soldiers were traveling that same route and listening to that same music. I hope you make it up to the city of Dalat, if you do make sure to hook up with the Easyriders.

You sure know what you're doing when traveling! and in editing vlogs too. Great video!

  • The country is beautiful. I would rather have the rain than the weather we had. Everything got coated in 6 mm of ice. Someday I would like to visit Vietnam but I'm nervous traveling there. ( Being an American, I was in my teens in the late 60's / early 70's) Horrible time. I watched the top gear show where they traveled the length south to north and some of the views were stunning. This is the first time I saw your video and plan to spend the rest of the day watching more of them. Good fortune and keep going.

  • I found your channel by accident and loving it, you have a very charismatic personality!

  • Back story. Some spots along the Hai Van pass were used by the North to smuggle in supplies during the war.

  • I want to go back to vietnam – noooow !! 🙂
    Great video TJAAAAAAAAAAAY

  • crickets crickling.. thats the type of shit I would say. Ahh I miss you soooo much TJ!

  • This vlog made me smile uncontrollably TJ! And makes me miss Vietnam and some of my family that lives there! Such a great tour company that Top and his brothers run!!

  • Love your channel :). I recently flew to Hanoi on a whim, bought a motorcycle I didn't even know how to drive and travelled all the way down to Ho Chi Minh. Back in Canada now with my motorcycle helmet hanging above my door as a memento. Your videos make me antsy to go back!!!

  • what an adventure! so much to see!

  • Makes perfect sense what does he charge per day? Will he go all over Vietnam?

  • Hi Tj!
I am curious on how you go about asking people/locals to be on camera while you're vlogging? Also, do you ask them to stop so you can admire the great views and etc… I am a soon to be backpacker and am very curious on how to go about situations like that.

    Thank you!

  • That's what you call a jeep 😎
